Pack the Pantry Project

Pack the Pantry Project

Calling all artists! Stop by If These Walls Could Talk at 32 S. Stolp Ave. in downtown Aurora and pick up a bag to decorate. Turn the bag into a work of art and voila! You can help pack the pantry.

The “Pack the Pantry Project” is a joint venture between the Aurora Food Pantry and If These Walls Could Talk, a framing shop and art gallery in downtown Aurora. Artists are challenged to take an ordinary paper bag and use it to create art. Artists can paint it, write on it, glue stuff to it, stuff things inside of it, cut it up and collage it, and “art” it however they please (keeping it in “bag” form is not required).

A $5 donation with proceeds going to the food pantry pays for the paper bag. Bags can be picked up at If These Walls Could Talk during business hours. Finished bags are due back by Nov. 17.

On Friday, Dec. 6 during First Fridays in downtown Aurora, bags will be on display and up for auction. Bidding starts at 7 p.m. and ends at 9:30 p.m. Bidding will start at $25 for most pieces.
