Help Plant Aurora's Riverbanks Project

On Saturday, July 29, 2006, nearly 60 volunteers helped plant 2,000 water willows on the east and west banks of the Fox River, from North Avenue to Benton Street, and around Hurd's Island. "Help Plant Aurora's Riverbanks," an award-winning habitat restoration project, is a partnership of organizations including Anheuser-Busch, the Aurora Area Convention and Visitors Bureau, Aurora Downtown, Budget Finance, the City of Aurora, the Conservation Foundation, the Fox Valley Park District, the Friends of the Fox, the Greater Aurora Chamber of Commerce, Hesed House, Hollywood Casino-Aurora, the Illinois Department of Natural Resources, Jake's Bagels, Johno's Main Surplus, Kaye Mason, National City Bank, Pigeon Hill Paddlers, SciTech, the Sierra Club, ShoDeen Construction Company, LLC, Superior Beverage Company, and WalMart
