August 1, 2003 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Help Plant Aurora's Riverbanks Project June 21st marked the 3rd annual "Help Plant Aurora's Riverbanks" event, sponsored by a partnership of Aurora Downtown, Superior Beverage Company, Anheuser-Busch, Hollywood Casino Aurora, National City Bank, the Illinois Department of Natural Resources, Fox Valley Park District, the City of Aurora, Aurora Township, the Aurora Economic Development Commission, the Greater Aurora Chamber of Commerce Central City Committee, the Aurora Area Convention and Visitors Bureau, plus Ciara's Place, Cody's, Just Because, and Johno's. Over 60 volunteers helped place 2000 aquatic plants along the east bank of the Fox River, just north of New York Street, and cleaned trash from the Fox River trail. A picnic at Tivoli Plaza was the after-event reward for everyone's hard work.
