Help Plant Aurora's Riverbanks Project

On Saturday, July 31, 2004, over 60 volunteers helped plant 2,000 water willows in the east channel of the Fox River, starting at the Downer Place bridge and working their way south around the Aurora Public Library and SciTech. "Help Plant Aurora's Riverbanks," a habitat restoration project, is a partnership of organizations including Anheuser-Busch, the Aurora Area Convention and Visitors Bureau, Aurora Downtown, the Aurora Economic Development Commission, the Aurora Public Library, Bacci Pizzeria, Ciara's Place, the City of Aurora, the Conservation Foundation, Fox Valley Park District, the Greater Aurora Chamber of Commerce, Hollywood Casino Aurora, the Illinois Department of Natural Resources, the Illinois Smallmouth Alliance, Johno's Main Surplus, National City Bank, the Pigeon Hill Paddlers, SciTech, the Sierra Club, and Superior Beverage Company.
