2006 Mayor's Awards for Excellence in Downtown Property Improvement

The City of Aurora's Downtown Development Division is pleased to announce the winners of the 2006 Mayor's Awards for Excellence in Downtown Property Improvements. Buildings that have undergone significant exterior and/or interior improvements are eligible for this recognition by the City of Aurora, and receive a commemorative plaque in appreciation of the investment that their owners have made to upgrade their property and the neighborhood. Award winning projects are selected by the 11-member FoxWalk Overlay District Design Review Committee, chaired by Donald P. Truax.

Winners were recognized at the Aurora Downtown annual meeting on December 7, 2006. Representatives from Mayor Thomas J. Weisner's staff, Chuck Nelson and Alisia Lewis, were joined by City Council members Juany Garza and Whitey Peters to present the awards. Winners received a commemorative certificate and photo of their property, along with a framed, limited edition "Downtown Aurora Architecture" poster.
