“Joe Sent Me” turns former library at One East Benton into 1920s speakeasy for Aurora Historical Society fundraiser

The Aurora Historical Society spring fundraiser will be an evening in a 1920s speakeasy.  With a hot and cool jazz band, refreshments and a cash bar, visitors will take their stand against the 18th Amendment in the same way as millions of Americans did during Prohibition — only this time no laws will be broken.

The event, titled “Joe Sent Me,”  will be Friday, March 10, 2017 from 5:30-9pm in the lower level lounge at One East Benton, formerly the 1904 Aurora Public Library but now the home of Support Techs, a business support firm.
The password to be given at the door is “Joe sent me”.
Cost is $45 per person, or $40 for historical society members.  Reservations are a must and can be made online at www.aurorahistory.net, by calling 630-906-0650, or by sending a check (payable to the AHS) at PO Box 905, Aurora, IL  60507.
