Grand Re-opening for River’s Edge Cafe

Amy and Joe Petit
Come visit River’s Edge Cafe during their Grand Re-Opening Week November 3 to 8. The cafe will be open their new, extended hours from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.
The cafe will offer free samples of a variety of their menu items, provide fun, theme related crafts and activities including trivia questions, and patrons will have chances to win a River’s Edge gift basket valued at over $100!
“I really want to encourage people to come see the changes we’ve made, like better coffee (even our own blend made by Metropolis!), new loose leaf teas, much quicker turn around time on orders, more desserts, extended hours, and a more spacious dining area!” said Amy Petit, who owns the cafe with her husband, Joe.
Petit is also excited that the cafe employees will be donating each day’s tips to a local charity.
Along with the grand re-opening celebration, the Petits are planning these dress-up theme days:
Monday = Disney Magic
Jasmine & Aladdin will visit from 1 to 2 p.m., face painting, balloons, and coloring pages.
Tuesday = Team Spirit
Show spirit for your favorite team from grade school to professional but a craft will be on hand in both West and East Aurora colors. Bean bag toss on the deck (if weather allows).
Wednesday = Spotlight on Broadway
Our theatrical staff are working on their show tunes to entertain you while they work. Check out our Walk of Fame and get your picture taken like a star!
Thursday = Superheros & Sci-Fi
Create your own super-powered arm cuff craft and check out our staff’s amazing Sci-Fi gadgets on display. All geeks welcome.
Friday = Totally 80’s
Remember cootie catchers and Rubik’s cube? We’ll have some here. Our very own Joe Petit (and friends) will be covering your favorite 80’s hits from 7-9 p.m., open until 10 p.m. during First Fridays in Downtown Aurora.
Saturday = Country Harvest
Bob for apples, try pumpkin bowling, and contribute your art on our huge pumpkin. The final decorated pumpkin will be on display the following week and pictures posted on Facebook.
“The staff is having fun with the theme days and plan on dressing accordingly and we’d like to encourage our patrons to as well,” Petit said. “There may be something sweet in store for you if you do,” she added.
