My landscapes evoke the power, drama, and peace of nature through strong use of color, composition and gestural mark making. Whether I am working in pastel, oil, or gouache, color is built up through a complex layering and optical mixing, resulting in a rich, deep surface. I paint and draw the landscapes of my travels throughout the United States and abroad. I feel a very strong pull and reaction to the forces and beauty of nature, and hope to communicate some of this beauty to the viewer.
